Bodrum is cosmopolitan and the nightlife reflects this. Nightlife in Bodrum is not at all British orientated and it is enjoyable to spend the evenings in bars and nightclubs with both turkish people and tourists. There are a number of really nice bars lined up along the waterfront with views of the striking medievel St. Peters Castle and the harbour and later on you can dance the night away in an open-air night-club.
The beach in Bodrum is fairly small and narrow and consists of sand and shingle. However, more impressive beaches lie just 6 miles away in nearby resort of Bitez and 2 miles away in neighbouring Gumbet, easily accessible by dolmus (minibus).
